A very creative, unique person and friend, whose life ended all too soon!  Peggy adapted the song, "Those Were the Days, My Friend" for our 10th Reunion and made it special to our class and friends!  And, I remember her book of poetry--so special and touching.  What a beautiful person, inside and out!

Peggy was so special to me.  She lived close by and I spent time at her home with her family.  She accomplilshed more in her short life than many of us who are still here.  She'll always be remembered through the wonderful words of wisdom she left behind for us in her writings and drawings.  She inspired everyone she came in contact with.  Still love and miss you after all these years Peg.

I graduated from State Street Elementry School with Peggy which is on the Northwest side of South Gate.  Most of the kids from State Street went on to attend Jr. & Sr. High in Huntington Park. If I remember correctly Peggy was in "Blue Birds/Camp Fire Girls". I also remember being in Jobs Daughters with her and many others.  I have read other postings and learned that Peggy was quite a gifted writer--I didn't know that.  As I have written several times before, it saddens me to see so many names on the “In Memory” list and to know Peggy and four others from State Street (Lyn Beckstrom, Robert Christy, Linda Lacey, and Bob Lamdrum) are included..

Peggy used to play Fleur de lis on the piano for me.  I miss her smile, I miss her laughter...and I am sorry she has pass.  But I am sure she is with the angels.

Peggy was the first person at South Gate High that became critically ill in our senior year.  I remember her especially because she was a friend...to everyone.  Since I lived in Watts, I wasn't able to hang with many of the girls in my class.  Carol Miller, Karen Miller and Arlene Kovak were the three I remember most from Junior through Senior High.  Judy Clarkson became my best friend in high school.  Although I was going steady with John Sheppard during that time, Peggy always made it a point to take me aside...just to talk.  I was devastated when I found out she was ill.  She lived with that illness with kindness, caring and love for everyone around her until her death in 1985.  She is a shinning example of what a real friend is.
