Deretha Leneal Drinkard Stevens was born in Hugo, Oklahoma on November 9, 1943 and her family resided in
Gadsden Oklahoma for many years before moving to South Gate.  She was in our Winter class and is pictured in our Junior Year Annual.  Sadly, we only have a little information about her life.  

Deretha was married to Glenn Stevens and they had two sons, Ron and Terry, and two grandsons, Ron Jr. and Justin.  They made their home in Del City, Oklahoma.  Deretha and her sister, Betty Drinkard Dodds S'64, attended our 50th and 55th Reunions.  She had a passion for cats, enjoyed sewing, computer games, thrifting and cooking, making beef jerky and peanut brittle, but her favorite past time was time spent with her family.

Deretha made it passed her 80th birthday, but sadly passed away July 25, 2024.  She is survived by her sons, Terry and Ron, his wife, Lucy; two grandsons; sister, Betty Dodds, and nieces.  A funeral service was held in Oklahoma and family and friends served as pallbearers. Rest in peace, dear Classmate.
