Richard Yardley

Richard Yardley

It is with deep sadness that we share that Winter Classmate, Richard Yardley, passed away July 6, 2015.  Richard served in the Air Force and then went on to have an interesting and varied career in the medical industry:  CFO of several hospitals and entities, officer of three insurance companies, partner in an internet company and partner in a pharmacy marketing company and right up to the end of his life worked as VP Healthcare Consulting and partner in a medical software company.  In addition, his caring nature extended to a hobby of helping healthcare companies in trouble.  Richard had been fighting prostate cancer for the past year and thought he had won the battle.  However, the cancer had spread to other parts of his body and during treatment for those tumors, he went into cardiac arrest and died at Hoag Hospital.  He went so suddenly but had had the support of family and friends throughout his battle with cancer.  Several classmates had just been corresponding with him through emails on our website during a few days before his birthday the end of June.  He was looking forward to finishing treatment and doing some traveling and possibly attending the next reunion.  Our Lord had other plans.  Richard is survived by his son, Jayson, and a daughter, Jill, and her son, Harrison.  Services were held July 18, at Park View Cemetery in Corona del Mar, where he is also buried.  He is dearly missed by so many who loved him and were blessed by being a part of his life.

So sorry to hear about your death brother.  Your road ended too soon.  Until we meet again.
